Samsung has launched CES magnificently. He introduced the Odyssey Neo G8 monitor with parameters that no one else can be proud of yet. The novelty is the first display with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 px and a frequency of 240 Hz. Previous 4K models had a maximum of 144 Hz.
The Odyssey Neo G8 has a diagonal of 32 inches and a deflection corresponding to a diameter of 1000R. This probably also means that the panel used will be of type VA, not IPS. Unfortunately, Samsung did not confirm this. But we know from the technical specifications that it uses Quantum Mini LED backlighting with top brightness in HDR at the level of up to 2000 threads, which can be regulated in 4096 steps. How many dimmable zones it contains, but the manufacturer keeps secret.
The monitor connects to a PC or consoles using two HDMI 2.1 or one DisplayPort. It will hopefully be in version 2.0, because today the only interface capable of transmitting 4K @ 240 with 10-bit colors and HDR without image compression. However, Samsung will only publish more information, including price and availability.
