The Russian Ministry of Digital Science, together with the Big Four operators (MTS, Beeline, Megafon, Tele2), agreed to provide free communication during the state of emergency in Kazakhstan. We are talking about incoming, outgoing calls and SMS, including those with a negative balance.
Non-tariff communications in Kazakhstan will be available to Russian subscribers from January 12 to 19, 2022. They will be able to contact diplomatic missions and airlines for free to resolve issues of stay in the country, and will also always stay in touch with family and friends.
To avoid excessive load on the network, the free connection limit will allow. It is assumed that the maximum time for telephone calls will not exceed 120 minutes per day for each subscriber.
Everyone who has been in roaming on the territory of Kazakhstan since January 5 will be able to request a recalculation of costs from their operator. These funds can be used to pay for communication services in the future.
According to the operators, there are about 30 thousand Russians in Kazakhstan who use mobile communications.
Earlier, the deputies of “United Russia” – members of the IT Committee of the State Duma – appealed to the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Russia with a proposal to abolish the fee for international roaming on the territory of Kazakhstan.
