Utrace has completed the implementation of a cloud-based L4 Utrace Goods solution for integrated labeling management in the Russian division of Continental. Now the system has been tested, put into commercial operation and successfully copes with information processing. During the year, Utrace Goods carried out about half a million operations for sending messages to the GIS MT “Honest Sign” and generated about 5 million marking codes.
According to the legislation, like other tire manufacturers operating in Russia, the company had to implement a serialization system and, from November 1, 2020, start labeling all new products. Continental selected Utrace Goods, an automated L4 cloud solution for end-to-end labeling management. It took Utrace specialists a little over a year to implement the project. During this time, they automated the process of ordering codes and sending reports to GIS MT, and also integrated them with the Kontur.diadok system using a universal transfer document (UPD). To date, the system has already passed about half a million operations to transfer data to the GIS MT “Honest Znak” and generated about 5 million marking codes. Generation of SN and cryptocodes is ensured by automatic exchange with GIS MT and L3 level systems operating at factories. Also, the new solution is integrated with the systems that Continental is already using – Elisa and SAP Tempo.
“The system was launched in two stages. During the first, we focused on the core functionality of the solution. This allowed us to launch business-critical processes in the shortest possible time and comply with legal requirements. As part of the second stage, Utrace specialists launched the remaining functionality of the system: now we use it to solve all the tasks related to marking management, “said the project manager from Continental. What is a geocluster and how it can be useful for business owners
“It was important for us to make the transition to serialized production as smooth as possible. Continental has several types of supply chains: local production; import; intercampani – resale of one legal entity to another within the Continental group; shipments to customers directly from production warehouses, from customs, from distribution centers. We managed to implement the support of these processes in a single system and launch all the processes on time, ”emphasized Utrace Product Director Sergey Ignatkin…
