Imagine that a colleague comes to your house and asks for your Wi-Fi password to access the Internet. Or any other family member. Or yourself when you want to connect another device. There are so many passwords that we use that it is likely that you will not remember them. And it is that it is a terrible method in usability, but at the moment there is no other.
When a Windows PC (or other systems) connect to a local wireless network, whether in the office, home or public places, save Wi-Fi password to computer. This makes it easier not to have to write it every time we connect to the same network. The system simply remembers it and connects automatically.
If you forgot the password, it can be recovered very easily. We leave you with two methods that use the internal tools for the latest Microsoft systems and a third that uses an external application that is just as effective, but even simpler.

- Click on Wireless Properties and access the Security tab.
- There you will see the type of security and encryption and also the key simply by checking the box “Show characters”.
Wi-Fi password in Windows 11

- Click on “More network adapter options”.
- On the wireless network connection, click on the right mouse button > Status.

Wi-Fi password with WirelessKeyView
Easier still because it does not require access to network settings. Our recommended app, WirelessKeyView, does the work for us and requires only download and installation. It is free and works on any version of Windows. Once installed, run it to see the list of network profiles and passwords associated with them.
You can view passwords and write them down, save them to a file, or export all items to save all passwords to a text file. Free and effective to find Wi-Fi password in Windows when we don’t remember it.
There are other methods that are outside of these MC Basics, but if you want you can try. Is about use the windows consolecommand prompt, or PowerShell
