IT companies invested about a billion rubles in the projects of the technopolis “Moscow”

The volume of investments of IT companies operating in the territory of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone has grown by more than 70% in 2021. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov.

“Residents of the Moscow Special Economic Zone, engaged in the development of telecommunications equipment and software, invested about a billion rubles in their projects in the SEZ in 2021. The volume of investments for the year increased by more than 70% compared to 2020, when residents invested 578 million rubles,” said Vladimir Yefimov. This was reported to CNews by representatives of the Complex of Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

According to the deputy mayor, favorable conditions for investors in the special economic zone of the capital and an increased demand for services and products of companies contribute to the growth in investments.

Currently, 90 companies have the status of a resident of the special economic zone. They represent six main clusters. One of them is the cluster of information and communication technologies.

“The IT cluster of the Moscow Special Economic Zone now includes 13 enterprises. Since 2006, its residents have already invested about 11.5 billion rubles in their projects on the territory of the SEZ,” said the head of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department Vladislav Ovchinsky.

According to the CEO of Technopolis “Moscow” Gennady Degtevmore than a quarter of the sector’s total investment came from four new residents who joined in 2021.

“Investors choose the metropolitan SEZ for its convenient infrastructure and logistics, wide opportunities for cooperation and development of production facilities on its sites, and the economic benefits that its resident status provides. For example, exemption from taxes on land, property and transport and payment of only a two percent tax on profits,” explained Gennady Degtev.


The Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone, subordinated to the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, includes five sites with a total area of ​​223.3 hectares. One of them is located in Pechatniki, four more – Alabushevo, Mikron, MIET and Angstrem – in Zelenograd.
