MTS PJSC, a Russian company providing digital, media and telecommunications services and Yugra State University signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation. As part of the partnership, MTS plans to create an IT laboratory for the development of wireless technologies, and will also offer an expanded internship program for students of technical specialties. Representatives of MTS reported this to CNews.
One of the main areas of cooperation is the creation of an IT laboratory for the development of wireless communication technologies, where students and graduate students of technical specialties, using the example of a base station and other practical materials, will study the structure of a radio relay network, the features of networks of LTE and 5G ready standards. This will help future IT professionals to develop their own innovative solutions for subsequent use in Ugra enterprises.

Young specialists will learn how to work with large city-forming companies to implement digital solutions, including import substitution products in Yugra. Cooperation with higher education will allow MTS to interact more effectively with South State University in creating social lifts and building career trajectories for graduates, their guaranteed employment.
“Ugra State University is one of the strategically important universities that trains highly qualified IT specialists and developers not only for regional but also federal companies. And in the current situation, they are in demand more than ever and in the future the demand for them will only grow. I am glad that we are switching to integrated cooperation with the university, when students can not only keep abreast of the latest digital developments, but also be able to solve business problems in practice. This will allow young personnel to improve their digital competence, give a powerful impetus to the transformation of Russian companies and effectively influence the development of the economy,” said the director of MTS in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra Andrey Belov.
“Today, we continue to observe a trend in the labor market – a high demand for specialists in information security, the development of mobile and web applications, online services, experts in system analytics and integration. At the same time, we have an even greater responsibility for training advanced personnel who must understand from the inside what devices, for example, the Internet of Things, geoanalytics work with, and what digital opportunities artificial intelligence opens up. I am sure that the IT laboratory that we will create together with one of the digital leaders of the Russian economy, MTS, will be an important step in the innovative development of our educational institution and the region as a whole,” said the rector of Yugra State University Roman Kuchin.
