Noveto offers an interesting project on Kickstarter. This is a high-directional speaker called Noveto Soundbeamer 1.0, which the company describes as “invisible headphones”.
The speaker is supposed to create “rays” of sound aimed at the listener’s ears, thus offering sound of the same quality as the headphones provide. The technology is called Noveto Smart Audio Beaming and promises immersive binaural sound without the use of headphones.
And of course the same privacy, when the sound that the listener hears will not disturb other people in the room. Apparently, the others in the room should only hear whispers, while the listener should enjoy 3D surround sound; Noveto promises up to 90% (20 dB) sound reduction from a distance of 1 m from the listener. The indicated volume should be up to 85 dB.
But that’s not all. The device should be equipped with face recognition using motion sensors and should not lack Alexa voice control. At the same time, AI technology should monitor the listener’s ears and ensure that 3D sound is heard even when you move your head. And thanks to the combination of AI-based face tracking and it should be possible to communicate with Alex naturally (without having to keep saying “Hey Alexa”). The camera should recognize the person, then offer information based on personal profiles, such as how many unread emails you have.
Noveto CEO and Christophe Ramstein (formerly Logitech Vice President). He made it clear that Noveto Soundbeamer 1.0 is “something we haven’t seen before and has the potential to change the way we work and live. We’re going back to a form of pleasant, intuitive communication …”
The device connects them via Wi-Fi, supports Air-Play, Bluetooth, has USB-C and a 3.5 mm analog jack. The Soundbeamer was estimated at $ 590.
