We could see the most speculation and leaked information in advance with graphics cards from Nvidia. At this year’s CES, we received an official presentation, where a lot of hardware and software news for players and creatives appeared. What will we see on the market in the near future?
BFGPU – GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
Nvidia has finally introduced the successor to its most powerful graphics card to date GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. As the name suggests, this is an improved GeForce RTX 3090, in several ways.
The card has a GA102-350 chip with 10,752 cuda cores, 84 ray tracing cores and 336 tensor cores. Compared to the classic GeForce RTX 3090, this is a decent shift (10,496 cuda cores, 82 RT cores, 328 tensor cores). However, Nvidia also increased the chip frequency from 1,395 MHz to 1,560 MHz in the base, and in turbo mode from 1,695 MHz to 1,860 MHz.
Although the capacity and type of memory remained the same, ie 24 GB GDDR6X, Nvidia managed to use faster chips here, so instead of 19.5 GHz it runs at 21 GHz and throughput increased from 936 GB / s to 1,008 GB instead of the same 384-bit bus. /with. Gross computing power in SP is almost 40 TFLOPS.
However, the tax for such an increase in parameters is also a fairly increased power consumption, when the TDP rose from the original 350 W to respectable 450 W. That’s why the card has a new type of 16-pin external power connector.
Nvidia said it will publish details of the card at the end of this month, so the availability and price, which will probably be crazy in the light of current market conditions, are not yet known.
“Cheap” GeForce RTX 3050
Nvidia has prepared a cheap one for desktop players on the other side of the barricade GeForce RTX 3050 with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. It uses a GA106-150 chip with 2,560 cuda cores, 20 ray tracing cores and 80 tensor cores. The memory chips operate at a frequency of 14 GHz and are connected via a 128-bit bus.
The card has a TDP of only 130 W and the price tag is set a bit higher – $ 249 (about 7 thousand crowns) than the new cheap competition from AMD – Radeon RX 6500 XT. Nvidia claims the card will start to be on sale from January 27.
Mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti for laptops
If you’ve been waiting for high gaming performance on your laptop, Nvidia has introduced two new products – the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti. The highest model GeForce RTX 3080 Ti has 16 GB GDDR6 memory.
According to Nvidia’s charts, the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is up to half as powerful in games as the older GeForce RTX 2080 laptop model. Gaming laptops with this model will sell for $ 2,500 (approximately 70,000 crowns).
The second mobile graphic is the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, which according to Nvidia has up to 70% higher performance than the older mobile GeForce RTX 2070 Super. The price of laptops with this graphic will start at $ 1,500, ie about 42,000 crowns.
Laptops with these models are starting to sell already from 1 February from manufacturers such as Razer, MSI, Asus, Alienware and others. The offer will be expanded in the coming months. In total, there should be over 160 new gaming laptops with graphics from the GeForce RTX 3000 series, with the cheapest ones starting at $ 800 (about 22,000 crowns).
Max-Q in the fourth generation
Nvidia has again improved its own technology for optimizing the performance of the CPU, graphics card and cooling in the notebook – Max-Q. In the new fourth generation, Nvidia boasts a processor optimizer, which uses a low-level approach to adjust frequencies according to the current temperature, required power and other parameters when playing games.
In this way, Nvidia tries to efficiently allocate the necessary resources, and in this case, there is artificial intelligence, which evaluates everything and behaves differently, for example, when the laptop is running on battery (Battery Boost 2.0). Nvidia claims that it also used artificial intelligence in the design of the cooling structure and other parts, which are then used by the manufacturers of laptops with Max-Q technology.
Software platforms for players and creatives
Nvidia’s great added value compared to the competition is software platforms, both for players (DLSS, GeForce Experience, Broadcast, GeForce NOW, Reflex and others) and for professionals (Nvidia Studio, Omniverse, CUDA and others).
Nvidia has announced Omniverse innovations for GeForce RTX Studio (end of beta), which allows you to connect many professional applications for creating a variety of content in one place or shared space, where people from the team and around the world can work. This simplifies the entire workflow, where it is no longer necessary to constantly move everything over large exported files and it is possible to work simultaneously in real time.
The Reflex Response Reduction system is available in 7 new games such as God of War, GRIT, iRacing, Midnight Ghost Hunt, Rainbow Six Extraction, Ready or Not and Super People. You can enjoy Ray Tracing or DLSS in these 10 games – The Anacrusis, The Day Before, Escape from Tarkov, HITMAN III, Midnight Ghost Hunt beta, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, Rainbow Six Extraction, Ratten Reich, Super People and Voidtrain .
And a little eSports
Nvidia also boasted support for eSports monitors (Nvidia eSports Vibrance, Reflex Analyzer), which have a diagonal of 27 inches with a resolution of 1440p and can use and graphically “tighten” a frequency of up to 360 Hz via G-Sync. Monitors can also be customized and reduced to 25 inch images and Full HD resolution, which is the most popular in eSports.
These monitor models will be from Asus, AOC, SMI or Viewsonic. Acer or Asus, for example, will sell higher-resolution 4K models with the features mentioned. There are also six new mice that are ready for Nvidia Reflex.
