Perm Polytechnic University has created an application to improve the efficiency of teachers

Today, platforms for distance learning of students are actively used in the vocational education system, but they have a number of disadvantages, such as not taking into account all the components of the educational process in the system, difficulties with system settings depending on user needs, with the implementation and support of the system. Scientists of the Perm Polytechnic University presented a new version of an intelligent web application for teachers, which will be used in the preparation of bachelors and masters studying in the field of informatization and robotization, as well as in advanced training of employees of IT enterprises. This was reported to CNews by representatives of the Perm National Research Polytechnic University.

The intelligent information system was developed as part of scientific and technical projects with the support of the Russian Presidential Scholarship for young scientists and graduate students (scholarship No. SP-100.2018.5), appointed by the Council for Grants of the President of Russia, as well as with the support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (scientific project No. 18-38-00835 ). In addition, the polytechnics received a certificate of state registration of a program for electronic computers.

According to the developers, the technology will reduce the labor intensity of the work of teachers through the flexible adjustment of training courses and individual practical tasks in accordance with the teaching methods used, the specifics of the disciplines studied, the use of simulator-training components to automate the process of controlling knowledge and skills.

“The most important functionality of the system lies in the automatic generation for each student of individual options for small practical tasks and in the automatic evaluation of the student’s performance of these tasks, the formation of comments and recommendations to the student. Through the implementation of this function, the presented development allows, in addition to testing knowledge, to organize the control of initial skills when students perform small practical tasks. Such tasks can be used, for example, when protecting reports on laboratory work, during exams, ”said one of the developers, associate professor of the Department of Information Technology and Automated Systems Ivan Polevshchikov.

For teachers, the system is also of interest because it allows you to remotely check the work of students, store information about the results of knowledge control, and also organize automated decision support when issuing intermediate certification.
