Rostelecom joined the federal information system for interdepartmental electronic document management (MEDO). This will allow employees to exchange documents with other participants in the system automatically, in addition, the amount of manual entry into the company’s electronic document management system will be significantly reduced. Now Rostelecom will instantly receive a notification about the delivery of a document to another participant in the system, its registration and the appointment of executors. Representatives of Rostelecom reported this to CNews

MEDO provides a secure exchange of electronic messages between the Administration of the President of Russia, the Office of the Government of Russia, federal bodies and departments of state power. The function of management and development of MEDO is implemented by the Federal Security Service (FSO) of Russia. The system is designed to improve management in government and increase its efficiency.

The process of connecting Rostelecom to MEDO consisted of several stages: designing and deploying an access node to an information system based on a separate local area network; implementation of the MEDO incoming message routing module, which allows you to distribute letters for processing in accordance with the assigned confidentiality criteria; carrying out certification tests of the protected premises for the operator’s workstation and the access node to the electronic document management system for compliance with the information security requirements of the FSTEC of Russia.

The National Certification Center (NAC) acted as a partner in the project of joining Rostelecom to MEDO. The NAC is an attestation body accredited by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control in the information security certification system for information security requirements for attestation of informatization objects. Included in the Informzaschita Group of Companies.

The Interdepartmental Electronic Document Management System (MEDO) is a federal information system that is designed to organize the interaction of electronic document management systems (EDMS) of MEDO participants: the Administration of the President of Russia, the Office of the Government of Russia, federal bodies and departments of state power.

The organizer of MEDO is the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSO). Every year, the FSO connects new authorities and departments in accordance with the approved schedule. This means that all existing or potential subscribers of the MEDO system must have mechanisms for interfacing with this system.
