In 2021, the Russian EdTech supplier Robbo showed an increase of 30%, mainly due to the development of the international network of children’s technical circles Robboclub.ru. More than 30 Robbo Club franchises have been sold. The company has also supplied over 170 engineering classrooms to schools, expanded to three new countries and opened an office in China. The representative of “Robbo” informed CNews about it.
Last year “Robbo” actively developed the international network of robotics clubs for children Robboclub.ru. More than 30 Robbo Club franchises were sold – a third more than a year earlier. Most of the newly opened clubs started working online. Robbo now has franchise partners in three new countries: Bangladesh, Slovakia and Turkmenistan. A full-fledged branch of the company was opened in China – the third after Finland and Japan. Due to the rapid expansion of the business, the company has increased its staff: the sales department has doubled, and the support and care service for partners has been separated into a separate department.
At the end of the year, Robbo became the third among domestic children’s franchises in the All-Russian Topfranchise rating, and also entered the register of reliable franchises of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“In 2021, there were fewer severe restrictions associated with the pandemic. Therefore, people without previous fears invested in the purchase of franchises, and the business was recovering its position. True, our partners still gave preference to the online direction. Starting a distance club can be almost half the price of an offline robotics club, and the risks of closing a business due to a lockdown are lower. At the same time, the franchisee receives marketing and business support from Robbo to the same extent. However, people want to return to normal life as soon as possible, so we expect a surge in demand for the company’s offline products next year, ”said Ekaterina Ekalo, director of franchising at Robbo.
Robbo continued to develop a line of educational products for schools. The company ensured the compatibility of products with the Russian-made operating system ROSA, launched its own LMS with simulators of real electronic devices for conducting online robotics classes, and began working with augmented reality tools. In the near future, the manufacturer’s product line will be replenished with new IT solutions in such advanced areas as virtual reality and the Internet of Things.
“We see great prospects in the concept of the metaverse and believe that in the coming years it will become the main driving force of the education sector. As a result, we will get a world where you can remotely study any profession, including those requiring applied skills. Robotics will become available to every child anywhere in the world. This is exactly what we want to achieve with Robbo. Therefore, we are actively introducing advanced tools such as 3D simulators and VR into our educational programs and making remote classes more interactive and practical, “- said the founder and producer of Robbo.
