In 2022, a company from the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow will launch mass production of breathing simulators – equipment designed to train students and doctors to work on an artificial lung ventilation (ALV) device. This was told by the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, which is part of the complex of economic policy and property and land relations of the capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky.
The simulator called “Ventisim” reproduces the breathing of people with impaired lung function of varying severity. The simulator is compatible with ventilators of any manufacturer. It is compact, easy to set up and manage.
“The work on the creation and improvement of breathing simulators was started by a resident of the Moscow SEZ “Khirana +” in 2020. Initially, the simulator was conceived as an alternative to foreign analogues. As a result, the company’s engineers managed not only to create their own technical solution, but also to completely localize its production in Russia. The device will go into mass production in 2022, more than 3 million rubles have been invested in its development. By 2026, the company plans to produce 2-2.5 thousand such simulators annually,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky.
According to the manufacturer, the device is 1.5–2 times cheaper than foreign analogues. Now the device is being tested in Russian clinics, which can purchase it in the future. Documentation and lines for serial production of the simulator are also being prepared.
The Hirana+ company, which specializes in artificial lung ventilation devices, has been operating at the site in Pechatniki since mid-2018. In 2020, the company received the status of a resident of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ.

“The enterprise’s capacities allow to produce over 500 units of medical equipment per year. The resident invested more than 66 million rubles. in the development of production in the metropolitan special economic zone and created 30 highly skilled jobs. Today, the equipment manufactured by the company is 70% completed with parts made in Russia,” said the General Director of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” Gennady Degtev.
In addition, the manufacturer plans to expand production and increase capacity over the next three years.
