Smart Engines has introduced a new version of the Smart ID Engine system for recognizing Russian passports and other personal documents in mobile applications, web applications and other information systems. In version 1.11.0, due to the use of proprietary AI algorithms, the company’s researchers managed to achieve significant acceleration. Now on the iPhone 12, the system is able to recognize eight passport turns per second. In server solutions on a 32-core HPC without the use of a GPU, the Smart ID Engine recognition speed can reach 55 images per second. This was reported to CNews by representatives of Smart Engines.
Smart ID Engine 1.11.0 adds 43 new types of identification documents, and the total number of documents that can be recognized is currently 1974 for more than 200 countries around the world. The system allows you to automatically extract data on images (photos and scans) and in a video stream in real time. Recognition does not use verifiers from third-party collaboration services or crowdsourcing platforms to enter customer data. Working in the customer’s information circuit ensures the security of the personal data recognition process.
Smart ID Engine is included in the register of Russian software and can run on Linux operating systems (including domestic distributions), Windows, iOS, Android, Aurora and Elbrus OS. The high accuracy and speed of recognition algorithms is provided exclusively on the basis of the proprietary Smart Engines AI stack for training ultralight neural networks. The system does not contain dynamically loaded components from other developers, and for character recognition the system uses its proprietary GreenOCR® type recognition technology, which supports 102 languages.
To integrate the ability to recognize passport data and other identification documents into the infrastructure and applications of companies, the delivery of Smart ID Engine includes a standalone SDK, documentation for the Passport Recognition API, and integration examples for C, C++, C#, Java, Python, PHP, Objective C and Swift. You can test recognition by installing the free demo application Smart Engines, hosted in the App Store or Google Play.
