The resident of the Skolkovo Foundation, the Intellogic company, has implemented a decision support platform for radiologists in the Open Clinic network of medical centers. The project was implemented with the support of the Skolkovo Foundation under the Digital Technologies program. The grant amounted to 51.8 million rubles. This was reported to CNews by representatives of the Skolkovo Foundation.

We managed to integrate AI technologies into the analysis of X-ray examinations, set up a comprehensive system for remote description of medical images. This made it possible to automate the routine steps of radiologists, quickly monitor the risks of developing the disease, and exchange diagnostic images between all participants in the diagnostic and treatment process.

The platform brought together five medical centers of the network, helped to improve the quality of diagnostics and find a solution to one of the most acute problems that arose during the pandemic: the lack of medical specialists in remote regions of the country.

Sergey Sorokin, CEO of Intellogic (Botkin.AI): “The solution is aimed, among other things, at eliminating a number of global problems and combating the corresponding socio-economic effects. This concerns the problem of medical personnel – the lack of highly qualified specialists and the excessive workload on existing medical staff, as well as the insufficient quality of medical services: omission of pathologies, a long process of generating radiological conclusions.

During the pilot and industrial operation, the following were processed: 1236 CT scans of the chest organs (CT) for the search for malignant neoplasms (MNT); 854 CT examinations of the OGK to search for the pathology of COVID-19; 68 mammograms to search for MN; 799 OGK radiography.

The results of the processed 2158 studies were sent to the PACS servers of the Open Clinic network of medical centers and Botkin.AI PACS servers, and are also available from the Robomed medical information system (HIS).

Ekaterina Stolbova, head of the project office of the operator of sectoral projects of the Digital Economy of the Skolkovo Foundation: “For several years, Skolkovo has been acting as an operator within the framework of the national program “Digital Economy of Russia”. The fund provides startups with a springboard to overcome the barrier to entry into the market with a new product. The project of intellectual analysis of medical images based on the Botkin.AI platform is an example of successful implementation of innovations in the field of healthcare. This year, it is planned to complete a number of projects, including those related to medicine, which received grants under the Digital Technologies program.”
