The legendary Star Trek series gets a prequel. The trailer for the first series is finally here

When Captain Pika and the original Enterprise spacecraft appeared in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery in 2019, everyone was surprised. In the original 1960s series, Pike was the captain in front of Kirk, and every fan of the series knows how it will end. However, Star Trek: Discovery was supposed to take place about 10 years before the first Star Trek series, so there was plenty of room for a separate series.

Streaming service Paramount + offers May 5, 2022 the first part of the series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which will follow freely, and thus has to fill the space in front of the original Star Trek. It will be the official prequel to the cult sci-fi series from the sixties and it will be the eleventh series from the world of Star Trek.

Actor Mount returns to the lead role of Captain Pika, Spock (Ethan Peck) also returns, and actress Rebecca Romijn (played by Mystique in the films) will repeat her role as the first officer (Number One). X-Men (2000), X-Men 2 (2003) a X-Men: The Last Stand (2006).

The shooting of the new series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds started in February 2021, and even though the series has not yet aired, the second series has already been confirmed. The plot will be simple, the crew of the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) under Captain Christopher Pike will explore newly discovered worlds across the Galaxy. According to the official trailer, it can be seen that, unlike the modern Discovery concept, the creators of the new series were more inspired by the original Star Trek from the 1960s. If you know him, you will notice some references in the trailer, even literal quotes.
