At the end of last year, Xiaomi launched a series of top models, the Xiaomi 12, in China, and in March the series also launched a global variant of phones. However, we are still waiting for the highest Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which could become one of the best photo cars on the market this year. Last year’s Xiaomi 11 Ultra succeeded (review here), and this year’s top model should be at least as good. The latest renders shamelessly reveal what Xiaomi’s top smartphone will actually look like.
Let’s start unconventionally on our backs. Almost a third of them will be covered by a gigantic “island” with four cameras. The main sensor will have a resolution of 50 megapixels. When shooting ultra-wide scenes, you can use a 48Mpx camera, the third sensor with the same resolution will be used for periscope optical zoom. The fourth camera is still unknown, but we are inclined to believe that it could be a “standard” telephoto lens or an additional macro. We also notice Leica branding on the renderings, the rest of the back should be made of ceramics.
The upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the first smartphone to be created in cooperation with the Xiaomi and Leica brands
Most of the front will be filled with a double-curved 6.6 “AMOLED display with QHD + resolution (3,200 × 1,440 pixels), in which a 20Mpx selfie will be ready for action. The display panel will be able to rely on a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1,700 nits. The dimensions of the phone, whose frame is made of aluminum, will be 162 × 74 × 9.5 mm, the novelty will weigh 234 grams, and the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will certainly provide the calculation page.
Remember the Xiaomi 11 Ultra:
